Inter-Risk raided for possessing unlicensed weapons!

64 assault rifles and 30 pistols, all unlicensed were seized and two people were arrested.

Police raided Inter-Risk, a Pakistani security firm owned by Captain (Retd.) Ali Zaidi, in Islamabad that helps protect the U.S. Embassy. 64 assault rifles and 30 pistols, all unlicensed were seized and two people were arrested. The incident follows a series of scandals surrounding American use of private contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The raid on two offices of the Inter-Risk company is especially sensitive because of a slew of recent rumors and media reports that U.S. embassy expansion plans in Pakistan include hiring the security firm formerly known as Blackwater.

Police official Rana Akram said that two Inter-Risk employees were arrested and being questioned. He said authorities were also seeking the company’s owner, Captain (Retd.) Ali Zaidi, a retired Pakistani army captain.

90% of NATO supplies enter through Karachi

NATO Supplies through Pakistan

Most of the Pakistanis might not know, but War Against Terror in Afghanistan is totally dependent on logistics services provided by Pakistan. According to sources, 90% of NATO supplies enter through Karachi and then transported to Afghanistan. 80% of these supplies go to Torkham through Khyber, while the remaining 10% goes to Chaman first and then to Kandhar. Only 10% come through air routes in Afghanistan.

More than 200 houses have been rented and purchased by Americans in Islamabad and 11 in Karachi. The houses rented /purchased in Islamabad are in Sectors E-7, F-6, G-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, F-11 and I-8. In Karachi, 7 banglows have been rented in Defence whereas 4 have been obtained in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. These are suspected to be used by Blackwater / Xe Worldwide for their under cover operations in Pakistan.
